Chapter One

"Yasmeen! Yalla english is starting! Bnt2a5ar!" Reem screamed out. "Kani yaya uf!" I replied.

I'm Yasmeen. I'm Bahraini and I've lived in Bahrain my whole life. I'm in the tenth grade and I go to a private school. Reem is my best friend. Chnha e5ty ely umy mayabat'ha! We fight A LOT. Bs we love each other enough to not let fights come between us. We have two other close friends called Jumanah and Layan who we've known since kindergarten.

We ran into English class hoping our teacher wouldn't noticed. But he did. "Reem, yasmeen, I hope you have a note explaining why you both are late for the 3^rd time this week." he said. "Ummmm… Yasmeen can explain!" Reem uttered. "Yal chalba a7en shagol!" I whispered to Reem while I nudged her in her ribs with my elbow. "Um.. Mister.. my locker broke.. umm .. my books fell on Reem's head!" I blurted out, trying to contain my laughter.  

Everyone was staring at us and my cheeks were so red. Even though everyone was staring, I could feel a pair of eyes burning through my skin. Urgh, Saif. "Have a seat girls. And don't be late again." The teacher said, interrupting my train of thought. While walking to our seats I whispered to Reem  with a disgusted look on my face "A5y chofy Saif shlon sar7an chnah awal mara echoof banat!" "Eee waai3! Mbchayf 5air thy!" she whispered back.

The day passed by quickly (7mdlah!) and by the time I got home I was exhausted. I had an hour before my dad would get home so we could all have lunch together so I changed and prayed and decided to check twitter. I read a few random tweets on my timeline and checked my mentions. "@YasmeenAlX Check your email!!" It was a mention from Reem.

I opened up my email account and noticed I had gotten an email from the school. "Greetings students! We would like to announce the launch of a new part of the school site! We have added a chat room for the high school classes and each grade has its own chat room! Now the chat room will be used for educational purposes ONLY! It is there for you to engage in educational conversations and to help one another with school work and etc…" The email went on about how to setup an account and everything so I decided I'd check it out to kill the time.

After setting up my account, I bbmed Reem.

Yasmeen: Reemo I set up an account did you?

Reem: Yup, dshy el site 5lna nsolif enmalil el awadem =))

Yasmeen: LOL 7dna losers ensolif 3l school site =))

Reem: enzain yalla chub! Dshay el site =))

I opened up the site and started talking.

YasmeenAlX: Hello

Manal: Ahlain

Saif: Halla

Manal: okay, you? :*

Yaser: BYE, MACHBOOS TIME.

Reem: ufff yasmeen, il wa7ed maygool shyy y3nii. Ana bamshy 3nkm a7sanly. BYE *Sad face*

Yasmeen: Bel3afya Yaser :D. BYE REEM.

Manal: Hahahaha 7adkum barnamaj bs ana waray derasa bye! Be back later!

Yasmeen: A5y kelkum r7taw? :)

Saif: Ana mawjood :D!

Yasmeen: Oh yeah..

Saif: So, sha5barch Yasmeen?

Yasmeen: Ana okay.. I have to go though! Bye!

Saif: t7amlay fe ro7ch, bye.

As I was logging out of the site, I felt kind of guilty leaving Saif like that. I don't like him y3ny bs I felt like he was genuinely asking about me. I shook the feeling off and went downstairs to check on the lunch. "Yuma! Ubooi maya lal7een?" I said while walking into the kitchen. "Ela yah akahuu dash el garage. Yalla ylsay bn76 el '3ada" My mom said while preparing the lunch with our house maid Julie. I decided to check my phone while waiting for lunch.

I opened up bbm and had a bunch of broadcasts which I didn't bother reading. I opened up twitter and noticed something strange. I had a new follower, so I checked who it was. My jaw dropped when I saw that Saif started following me. I had a new Direct Message so I opened up my messages.
