This chapter is dedicated to @NBlogger_ for always being there<3!

The ending isn’t going to be what any of you guys expected. Saif and Yasmeen do eventually break up by senior year. Yes, it sucks but it was really for the best. Yasmeen never really trusted him again after what happened; even after the big apology at Jumanah’s house. They never stopped loving each other, but them staying together wasn’t meant to be. Yasmeen graduated from a University in New York and found true love while she was in her University. He was a really nice Bahraini who loved her more than she could love herself. More importantly, she fell in love again. They married once they got back to Bahrain and have two children, Sarah and Ahmed. Saif also found love while studying in the UK, they also are happily married with three children, Yasser, Fahad and Noor and live in Bahrain.

After senior year, Reem decided to wear the Hijab and she broke up with Faisal. He surprised her by waiting for her till after they both graduated from University and they are now happily married.

Layal and Yousif also separated for a while because of University but Yousif did get engaged to Layal before they went to University because he wanted to make sure Layal would stay his forever.

Jumanah, Layal, Reem, Layan and Yasmeen still do hangout occasionally. Reem, Yasmeen and Layal are still bestfriends and they have to see each other weekly. Faisal and Saif are still bestfriends too. Saif still asks about Yasmeen from time to time and Yasmeen is also friends with Saif’s wife.

Jassim went w 56ab Jawaher right after Saif told him she chose him. They are now happily married, with 4 children. One of the boys is named Saif.

Saif and Noorah are really close. She now lives with them in a compound while studying in University. Saif does occasionally visit his father and every friday he has lunch at his Grandmother’s house.

This chapter is dedicated to @MaryamSulaibekh because a7bha<3!!

-Saif’s POV-

Why did she have to see me? I love her so much but she doesn’t understand that I REALLY can’t trust anyone fast. Yeah, I have trust issues, but I do have my reasons.

-BBM Conversation with Yasmeen-

Saif: Yasmeen! Please fhmy laish magltlch!
Saif: Wallah asif
Saif: Yasmeen a7bch!
Saif: Yasmeen rdy 3lay!
Saif: PING!!! x5
Saif: Answer my phone calls please!!

Okay, so BBM wasn’t the answer. This week was a holiday so I had time to plan what I had in my head.

-BBM conversation with Jumanah-

Saif: Jumanah, I have a plan. But I need your help.

-

-Yasmeen’s POV-

Its been three days since I last spoke to Saif. He BBMs me daily, calls me daily, mentions AND DMs me daily, but I just ignore. I wasn’t going to forgive him so easily. It wasn’t even because he met up with her; it was because he didn’t trust me enough to tell me AND he lied to my face about who he was meeting. It was too easy for him to lie to me.

Reem and Layal stayed over the past two days, but today I was here alone. They begged me to go out with them today, but I was just too emotionally drained to go out and see people. The fact that I didn’t know if Saif and I were broken up was what bothered me the most. I honestly do love him and I know he loves me too, but the way he didn’t trust me was too much. The amount of times we fought was too much. I never compared our relationship to Yousif and Layal or Faisal and Reem, but now I’ve noticed we fight so much more than they do.

I wasn’t eating properly these past three days. They actually felt like three years. I got so used to the fact of talking to Saif everyday and seeing him in school everyday. I knew I seemed a bit over dramatic to Reem and Layal, but honestly, the way I fell for Saif was truly unreal. I’ve never felt this way about a person in my whole entire life.

Jumanah kept bbming me to come to her house in Durra. She says fe shay 7da muhim. I wasn’t really in the mood to see anyone, but I needed to go out w a‘3yr jaw shway. I asked my mother if I could go and she said it was fine. It was about 4 PM so I told Jumanah I’d be there by 4:30-4:45. I decided to wear my black leggings and an oversized ‘I ❤ Bahrain’ hoodie. Yes, it was hot, but I wasn’t bothered to wear anything else. I wore my gold flats and got red Maschino shoulder bag, threw my phone and lipgloss in it and was out the door. I had winged eyeliner on, mascara and a bit of red lip stain on.

Once I got to Jumanah’s house, I noticed that there was a path made from red rose petals that lead to the back of the house. I was confused but I decided to follow it. I walked slowly towards the end of the path; which had a few candles next to them. I was seriously curious to find what was at the end of the path. Once I got to the end of the path I found...

‘I’M SORRY’written neatly with red rose petals on the ground, with Saif standing behind it. He was holding a bouquet of flowers, and he mouthed the words ‘I love you’. I was completely and utterly shocked.

I ran into his arms, with tears falling from my eyes.

This chapter is dedicated to @its_goog for being the funniest 'bro' ever :')

-Saif's POV-

This was the first time my father has ever sent me a message, telling me to come home. I would always just wait till things cooled down and went back on my own. I didn't know why I couldn't erase the smile on my face. Maybe its odd to others that I felt loved by my father from this message; but I did. I felt loved.

I blew out the candle on my slice of cake without making I wish. I had everything I wanted, el7mdellah. I got up and walked up the stairs, towards Faisal's room. Reem left with Yasmeen, so I had heard him run up the stairs once their car had left. Yasmeen BBM-ed me that she was dropping off Reem and then I forwarded the SMS to her on BBM. She was literally ecstatic about it. With Yasmeen, I felt like I could tell her everything and she would never judge me. She was one of those people you wanted to change for; you wanted to become a better person just for them.

Once I got to Faisal's room, I knocked lightly on the door. "Tfa'9al" Faisal said from inside. I opened the door slowly and walked towards the small couch he had near his bed. "Faisal, int 7sbat u5ooi, y3ny ana ma7b etha nt'hawash la2na a7s eny mt'hawsh weya wa7d mnn a3az elnas 3ndy. You were right. Yasmeen does deserve better. Bs wallah I'm trying to become a better person for HER." I said, looking down at the floor. "Saif, wallah int b3d 7sbat u5ooi! Ana zafaytk la2ny ma7b 6ree8tk shlon 9arat!" Faisal said, his serious expression slowly fading away. I nodded and told him why I reacted that way and about the message from my father. "Saifo 5th eldriver w rd baitkum! Akeed ent eshtagt 7g sreerk w e5tk!" Faisal said, chuckling. I laughed as he called his driver to pick me up.

-

I opened the door to be welcomed by Sally, Noorah and a cupcake. The cupcake had 'HBD S' (happy birthday Saif) written on it. "Happy birthday Saif" Noorah and Sally said, smiling in my direction. I smiled and hugged them. It felt good being back in my house. Noorah pointed towards a card on the table. It was a plain, white card in a plain white envelope signed 'baba'. That was odd. I walked towards the table and grabbed the card. Slowly, i took out the card that contained a photograph and three words. "happy nirthday Saif." was written in the card and a picture of my mother while she was pregnant with me stuck next to it. This was the first real gift my father gave me.

-Yasmeen's POV-

The whole ride home, I had a smile plastered on my face. Reem kept asking me why I was smiling, but I was too wrapped up in my memories of today. I was so touched that Saif told me first about how he spent his birthdays. Yeah, I was pissed that he didn't trust me from the beginning to tell me, but I still appreciated the thought that I was the first person to find out.

"5al n6la3 tomorrow madam el family gathering is cancelled." Reem said, starting to nag like a child. "don't remind me! 7dy I miss my grandmother! It sucks that she's in Saudi this weekend!" I said, pouting slightly while my eyes drifted away from Reem's gaze. "Inzain ma3alay! Me, you and Layal nroo7 Seef tomorrow for lunch 3sham n'3ayr jaw!" Reem said, trying to change my mind. "inzain, inzain! Basich 7ana I'll BBM Layal a7een and tell her to meet us at Seef tomorrow by 2 PM.”I said, shutting Reem up. Once Layal agreed, our plans for tomorrow were set.

-

-Saif’s POV-

I woke up to my phone ringing. It was Jassim.

-Phone call with Jassim-

Jassim: T3rf cham mara t9alt feek?! i5ook 3ady trid 3al telephone mara thanya?!

Saif: Wa 3laykum el salam. Shtaby mt9l mnn 9ba7 Allah 5air t9ari5.

Jassim: Abeek, etha ma3layk amr, T7ACHY JAWAHER W ITGOOLHA MTA YOU GUYS WILL MEET UP.

Saif: had a39abk. Mb mshkly thak elyoum she had to cancel! A7een ba7acheeha w bagoolha troo7 Seef Mall at 4 PM, okay Jassoom?

Jassim: Ee okay! Call me awal ma tkamel ha Saifo?

Saif: Inshallah, bye

Jassim: Bye

Once I closed the phone, I whatsapped Jawaher the plan. She agreed too, because she also wanted to get this over with. Yasmeen had ‘Seef with the girls<3’ in her BBM personal message, so I decided I was going to surprise her. Once I got to Seef, I asked Reem where they were so I could surprise Jazi.

-Yasmeen’s POV-

We managed to get to Seef by 2:30 because Reem decided not to criticize what I was wearing today. Shocking, I know.  I wore blue jeans, a coral top and a black blazer, with a simple necklace and a few bracelets. I matched it with my usual, black Chanel shoulder bag and my coral flats. Reem approved of my outfit today; she said I didn’t look so “bohemian”. Reem wore navy blue jeans, a tuck in white shirt and a few chunky necklaces and bracelets. She had a red Maschino purse with her and gold flats. Layal wore a light beige, maxi skirt with a plain white shirt and a black blazer. She paired it with a few necklaces and blue flats with a black clutch.

Once we got to Seef, we decided we’d have lunch at Cafe Italia. The waiter seated us in one of the booths at the end of the restaurant. I had my back to the door and Reem and Layal were facing me. “BOO!”someone said from behind me. “SHIT SAIF 5ARA3TNY! I WAS GOING TO HAVE A HEART ATTACK!”I said, a bit too loud, my hand on my chest. Saif, Reem and Layal bursted out laughing. “Lo chfty wayhich! Chnch chayfa wa7sh!”Saif said, trying to contain his laughter. “7mar. Wallah 7mar.” I said, trying to stay annoyed. Saif just kept on laughing then he mouthed the word “a7bch”so I would smile. And, of course, I did. “So. int yeet all the way to Seef just to freak me out?”I said to Saif. “Laa yal wath8a, yeet 7g Jassim.”Saif said, trying to imitate my voice. I scrunched up my nose so he would laugh and I bursted into laughter too. “Tnarfzoon!” Reem said, trying to annoy us. I gave her the ‘talk to the hand’ face. Saif stayed and had lunch with us.

“Yalla, Jassim egool ina ehwa w9al!”Saif said, about to walk away. I gave him my best puppy dog eyes and said ‘bye’. He smiled and waved goodbye. We decided we’d walk around Seef to pass the time. It was about 4 PM.

-Saif’s POV-

I decided I wasn’t going to tell Yasmeen that I was going to see Jawaher about the decision thing. I knew it was wrong but I didn’t want to open up old problems. Jawaher decided we’d meet at Carribou.

“Halla Saif”Jawaher said, once I walked up to her. She was seated at one of the tables at the back of the coffee shop. I ordered myself a cup of coffee and sat down. “So... shlounch?”I said, awkwardly. “Hahaha, Saif mb lazm you ask me how I am, bs 5lna seeda indsh elsalfa.”Jawaher said with a smile. I chuckled and said “Inzain, umm, fakarty fel maw‘9oo3?” “Mawgft afakr fel maw‘9oo3..”Jawaher said, looking at the ground. There was silence for a while... “Ana aby Jassim. A9lan dayman knt aby Jassim! Bs Khalid kan e7bny gabel Jassim w 9arat swalif bs my heart chooses Jassim!” Jawaher said. She let out a sigh.

-Yasmeen’s POV-

Layal wanted to get something from Jashnmal, so she dragged us with her. Once we were done, we passed by Carribou to find Saif sitting with that girl from Amwaj. Yes, I knew he was there because Jassim asked him too, but why couldn’t he just trust me enough to tell me? I’m sick of this.

-BBM conversation with Saif-

Yasmeen: Thanks for trusting me enough to tell me that you were meeting this GIRL. WOW Jassim looks amazing! Thanks for lying and saying you were meeting Jassim. Wallah Saif, don’t bother explaining yourself.

-Previously-

I just stood there. Tears falling from my eyes. I literally just froze in my place. Why did he just do that?

Faisal ran past me and out the door. Reem came and put her hand around me. She pulled me towards her and lead me to the bathroom so everyone wouldn’t see me crying.

-Saif’s POV-

I was so mad at Yasmeen! I didn’t mean to lash out on her like that but I couldn’t help myself! My birthday was such a dark time for me and it was a day I shared with my mother. I couldn’t stand seeing a party going on and just stand there. I had to leave. Once I walked out of Faisal’s house, I realized I had no where to go. I could go to Jassim’s house, but they would just ask me a bunch of questions that I didn’t want to answer. I wanted to go back to my own house. As much as the house reminded me of the bad times I had with my father and his wife; it also reminds me of Noorah and Sally, the two people who I know now, will always be there for me no matter what. It reminds me of the days Noorah and I would have adventures in the backyard and the days where Sally would teach me how to ride a bike. And I oddly missed my father; the constant disappointed looks were part of my daily routine. I had just noticed that I was passing back and forth in front of Faisal’s house, when Faisal came up to me with an angry expression on his face. He looked more frustrated than angry.

“Int.. Int shagoolk?! Maynga3 fe 3ainik shay Saif?! Wallah you don’t even know how much work Yasmeen, Reem and Noorah have done just to make this birthday a special one for you! Wallah they would come over everyday after school JUST to decorate and plan this party for you! They went out of their way bs 3shan they tell everyone to act like they didn’t know it was your birthday!”Faisal was outraged. His hands were in fists and you could see that his eyes were gonna pop out of his eye lids any second now. I just looked at him and smirked. He didn’t even know half of what I went through on my birthday. “INT MAYNOON? GA3D TBTSMLY CHTHY SAIF?! Honestly, I feel so sorry for  Yasmeen. She deserves so much better than the crap she gets from you.”He said, walking away with a disgusted look on his face. I noticed a shadow behind him. Once he walked away, I found Yasmeen standing right in front of me with tears in her eyes. She didn’t necessarily seem sad about what I had done. No, she seemed like she felt sorry for me. She had a pitiful look on her face. I actually felt sorry for her. Maybe Faisal was right. Maybe she does deserve better. My heart twisted once I had the thought of her with another guy came to mind. I tried pulling her in for a hug; she pushed me away.

-Yasmeen’s POV-

A hug? Seriously? He didn’t really believe a hug would fix everything. I was longing for his hugs but I wasn’t going to forgive him so easily. “Yasmeen... Let me explain. You’ll know why I reacted that way once I explain!”Saif said, his face showing mixed emotions. I sighed and nodded, signaling him to start talking. "Look, mnn youm ma ana 9'3eer ma7b aswy birthday parties. Its a day I celebrate with my mother." He continued on explaining, till my eyes started to water and he pulled me in for a hug. It felt like we were in each other's arms forever. The comfort I felt from hugging him was unreal. He made me feel so safe and I could never stay mad at him. Once I pulled away from the hug, he wiped my tears away and I smiled. Saif took my hand and pulled me into the house.

We were shocked that Reem had sent everyone home so we could have some privacy. There was a note on the table that said "I sent everyone home, Faisal and I got our dinner and cake and went to the front yard. Have fun kids." It was from Reem. We both laughed and got ourselves some food. I got up and cut Saif a piece of cake with a candle in it. I handed it to him and said "make a wish" while walking out. "Wayn ray7a?" Saif said, with a confused look on his face. "You should spend this time with your mother." I said, pointing to his phone that contained a picture of his mother. Yes it sounded weird, but this was the way he loved spending his birthday; surrounded with pictures of his mother. Saif smiled at me as I walked out of the room.

-Saif's POV-

Words could not describe my feelings towards Yasmeen. She was so understanding and caring. I honestly don't know what I did to deserve a girl like her. 'I love her' is an understatement to what I feel towards her. 'Dling!' I received an SMS. "Saif, you can come home." It was from my father.

-Previously-

Once Layal told her parent’s, BAM. Salman went straight to Jail.

I called Layal to check up on her once I got home. 7emdlah she’s relieved that this creep was in jail. I decided I’d call Saif.

-Phone call with Saif-

Saif: Halla 7bebty

Yasi: Ahlein, Saif waink al7een?

Saif: umm, bait Faisal...

Yasi: Saif, why didn’t you tell me your father kicked you out?

Saif: Yasmeen, I needed time to think. I needed to be alone.

Yasi: Oh. Sorry for trying to be a supportive girlfriend and wanting to help.

Saif: Please latz3leen mny... Yasi you know ena I love you! You’re my Jazi! Mar’9a tz3leen mny! Maknt aby a‘9ygch eb mashakly...

Yasi: *giggles* Saif you know I love you so much! Wallah I doubt tgdar et‘9ygny!

Saif: Inshallah doum asm3ch t‘97keen

Yasi: Chub Saif *giggles again*

Saif: Tgoly chub w t‘97ak! Agool 7bebty aka Faisal enadeny! Bakalmch fe BBM! And come to school tomorrow ha! Elmadrsa malal bdoon breaks with you

Yasi: Hahaha Inshallah! Okay 7ebeby, bye

I felt relieved once I knew Saif was okay. I do really love Saif. Yes, we don’t talk 24 hours a day like Reem and Faisal, but when we do talk, it means the world to me and it actually made my day. Saif also made sure he asked about me at least once everyday, just to check up on me. And we had to spend breaks together, everyday. The best part is that I know he loves me. ‘Dling! Dling!’ my phone was ringing, it was Noorah.

-Phone call with Noorah-

Noorah: Aloo Yasi habebi

Yasi: Aloo Noorah hayati *chuckling*

Noorah: Okay 9j, 9j, shlonch 7abebti?

Yasi: Chnch tawch chayfatny?

Noorah: Zain mny as2al 3anch! La bs 9j bagoolch! Thursday bekoon Saif’s birthday! I just thought a surprise birthday party from his gorgeous girlfriend would be the perfect birthday present?

Yasi: And his gorgeous sister! Who might I add is a genius! I’ll tell Reem 3shan we all go out on tuesday and we get things for the party! We can have it at Faisal’s house 3shan ehwa already hnak!

Noorah: Hahaha ee! Allay can’t wait!

-Saif’s POV-

My birthday is in a few days. Yes, I was turning 17 on Thursday. Exactly 16 years ago, my mother died giving birth to me. Yes, I’ve never celebrated my birthday and yes, I wasn’t planning on ever having a birthday party. When we were kids, parents would bring cake and food to our class for their child’s birthday and we’d have a party in class. My father never brought me a cake. Sally would make me a batch of cupcakes and she’d put a candle in one so I could make a wish. Every year I wished for my mother. Until I turned 11, when I realized I shouldn’t be wishing her back when I knew she was better off in heaven. I even told Sally to stop making me cupcakes, and eventually she did. She knew I it would just hurt me even more. I was so grateful that no one in school knew when my birthday was. I was super grateful that Yasmeen didn’t know especially, because I knew she’d want to throw me a party or do something really fun with the group. My birthday was a day I spent alone. A day I spent remembering my mother and looking at the few pictures my father kept of her.

-

-Yasmeen’s POV-

Awal mara fe 7ayaty I wake up before my alarm. I was so excited to go to school! I was going to act like I didn’t know it was Saif’s birthday on Thursday. I planned on hanging out in break with Saif then I’d go and plan with Reem. I just loved planning.

Once I got to school, I walked over to Reem and told her that I was planning the surprise and she should ask Faisal if we can have it at his house. Us girls would get ready at Reem’s house, since her house was the closest to Faisal’s and we wouldn’t have to make any excuses for Saif to show up, since he was already living there. “Allay! 7dy I can’t wait! So, Tuesday me, you and Noorah nroo7 Seef? We can go get party things from 5ayal wa azhar!”Reem said; her smile wide and her hands clapping together ecstatically. “Eeee! Allay! 5al we go after school in our uniforms and Noorah can meet us there, then your driver can pick us up w nroo7 baitkum enwady the stuff!” I said, just as excited as Reem was.

Reem signaled Faisal to come towards us so she could tell him the plan. Once Faisal was next to us, leaving Saif standing all alone which was my signal to go talk to him. “Good morning beautiful”Saif said, once I was in front of him. He flashed me a smile, making his dimples visible. His curls looked extra messy today; which was really hot. He must’ve taken a bath and come to school. “Hello Mr. Dimples”I said with a giggle. “Ana agoolch beautiful w inty tgoolenly ‘Mr. Dimples’? Afa wallah”Saif said, fake pouting. I laughed and hit his shoulder lightly. “Yalla awa9lch homeroom?”Saif said, pulling my wrist gently. I nodded and walked with him, adjusting my Juicy Couture shoulder bag, which was so heavy thanks to the shit load of homework we had for the weekend. Saif chuckled “asheelha 3anch? Shaklch btmooteen”he said, holding out his hand for me. I hesitated then said yes. He looked so funny carrying a glittery bag in his hands. We were walking really slowly until I noticed no one was standing around in the hallways. “Shit Saif! 7ady late!” I said, running towards my class. “Well, well Yasmeen. I see hanging around with your boyfriend is more important than coming to homeroom. I don’t even know why you showed up.”My teacher said, while she was staring at Saif carrying my bag. I quickly snatched my bag from Saif’s hand and said “He’s not my boyfriend; he’s just a friend. And I’m sorry, my bag was heavy and Saif was helping me.”Saif looked annoyed but I gave him an apologetic look and he shrugged it off. I knew he understood my situation. “Aha. Come inside and don’t be late again.”She said, giving me a disapproved look. I nodded and waved goodbye to Saif. “And you, young man, get to homeroom... NOW!”She said sternly to Saif. Saif put his hands up giving her a ‘I surrender’look and ran away. I laughed and walked to my seat.

The rest of the day went by pretty normally. Saif and I hung out at break, eating our chips and talking about the most random things ever. I loved our breaks. He kept making fun of my reaction when my teacher caught us. And I kept smacking his shoulder while he acted like it actually hurt him.

-

It was finally Tuesday and me, Reem and Noorah were finally gonna buy the party supplies! “Yalla Reem! You can talk to Faisal on BBM!”I shouted out of the window, embarrassing Reem and making her run to the car.  “Yaly shagoolch! Hal gad jealous ina Faisal e7b esolif ma3ay? Uf inta7ry please.”Reem said, closing the car door behind her. I burst out laughing and replied “Why would I be jealous? 3ndy Saif!”Reem hit me and I whatsapped Noorah that we were on our way to Seef.

Once we met up with Noorah in ‘Bloom-N-Fantasy’, we started taking pictures with the funny costumes but actually started getting supplies once the Indian guy that worked there started giving us death stares. We ordered balloons and a banner, we also got some decorations and plates. Once we were done, we went over to Reem’s house to plan the rest of the party.

-

FINALLY THURSDAY! I acted normal at school because I didn’t want Saif to suspect anything. It was odd that no one else wished him a happy birthday... he also looked pretty sad today... I shrugged the feeling off.

Once I got to Reem’s house, I layed my outfit on her bed. “Allaay!!! Wayed 7lw!!!”Reem said, smiling from ear to ear. It was a pair of aztec print skinny jeans with neon colors and a short sleeved, sheer white top, that had a round collar made of small pearls. I wore neon, floresent green heels with it and a glittery clutch for my phone and lipstick. I have nude lipstick on and winged eyeliner on. I left my hair down. Reem wore a baby pink dress that hugged the little curves she had with a belt that had a big bow in the back. She wore hot pink heels with it and a black Chanel shoulder purse.

Once we got to Faisal’s house, he told us all to hide. I was so proud of the decorations and all of the work me, Reem and Noorah did. I stood next to the door, so I could be the first person to see Saif’s reaction and so I could switch on the lights, obviously.

Once Saif walked through the door everyone scream “SURPRISE!”at the top of their lungs! People popped confetti poppers and people started whistling. I whispered to Saif “Surprise 7abebi, I hope you liked it”I gave him a soft smile. “Uf Yasmeen! This is why I don’t tell people about my birthday! If I wanted to have a party I would’ve made one myself!”He said, while he stormed out of the room.

I just stood there. Tears falling from my eyes. I literally just froze in my place. Why did he just do that?

“YA WLD EL **** !! ANA BATHB7K”Yousif pulled Salman from his shirt and he threw his body on the floor.

“YOUSIF STOP!!”

Suddenly, I noticed my driver coming towards us, holding his phone in his hand. I walked towards him and said “Raj, shtsawy? Why did you leave the car?”a confused look on my face. “Mama! Ana fe choof Yousif sawy hosha weya nafar ana ytisil(yti9l) fe police!”Raj said, looking flustered. “Laa Raj! Shsawayt!”I said, a worried expression on my face.  Suddenly, the security guards came towards us and said “Excuse me, we got a call from the police, they said they got a call saying to guys were fighting, we need to take them in.” The security had a serious look on his face; his eyebrows narrow and his lips straight. Yousif signaled us to go to the car; he mouth the word “go”while walking towards the security guard. I dragged Layal to the car, tears filling her eyes. She kept looking back, watching Yousif and Salman leaving the empty parking lot with the security guards. I was seriously worried; I felt sick to my stomach. So many questions were running through my mind. What was gonna happen to Yousif? Was he going to jail? Was Layal gonna get in trouble? What was going to happen to Layal when her parents find out? My phone interrupted my thoughts; my mother was calling.

-Phone call with Mama-

Mama: Yousif tawa kalam ubooh, w galah ena ray7 markaz elshr6a a7een w y7taja eroo7 hnak. Yasmeen, inty w Layal ityoon bait yaditch. NOW.

Yasmeen: I-I-Inshallah..

Tears filled my eyes. Yousif might go to jail. How was I gonna break this to Layal? That Yousif was going to the police station right this minute. That she was going to have to explain this to her parents. How was she gonna tell them about her relationship with Yousif? Or was she planning on keeping that part out? I could hear Layal mumbling to herself, her faint voice repeating “Its all my fault.”She put up her feet, holding on to her knees, rocking back and forth with her face buried in her knees. I lifted her head up, revealing her now smudged mascara, her face filled with tears. She had one of those baby faces that looked so vulnerable when she cried. “Layal 7beebty, its so not your fault. It was my idea. Yousif wanted to be there for you. Inty mb fahma ina he’d risk his life for you? Don’t you know that he would do literally anything for you? Yal habla, HE. IS. CRAZY. ABOUT. YOU.” I didn’t notice I was shaking Layal while saying that. “I-I just love him so much! 5ayfa 3lay! Wallah what if Salman twists the story around and Yousif gets charged? Yasmeen, wallah I’m so scared!”Layal said, crying in my arms. We stayed like that till we got to my grandmother’s house; Layal crying in my arms and me trying to calm her down.

When we finally arrived, Raj was staring at me from the rear view mirror, waiting for us to leave the car. But Layal and I, we didn’t want to leave the car, because we knew; we knew once we left the car, everything would become real; Yousif would be at the police station, we’d be worried here, and we’d have to tell our parents and Yousif’s parents the whole story. And we didn’t want to; we couldn’t, it was too much for one day; too unreal. I let out a long sigh, while my eyes were shut. I tapped on Layal and nodded slowly, like I was telling her “it was time.” She shut her eyes and nodded back. Once we slowly left the car, Raj left to park it. I held Layal’s hand, squeezing it to reassure her that I was here for her. We took slow steps towards the door. When we finally got to the door, we turned the knob as slow as we could. I took a deep breathe and opened up the door.

Once the door was open, our parents ran towards us, Yousif’s mother in tears. “Sh9ar?! Feekum shay?!”My mother said, pulling me in for a hug. I started crying again, after feeling the warmth of my mother’s hugs. Layal’s mother gave her a seriously look, but then she sighed and pulled her in for a hug; once she notice Layal had been crying the whole way here. Layal explained that this guy had been stalking her for about 2 weeks now, and he threatened to hurt her family if she said anything. So, Yousif, like the defending cousin he was, wanted to take action and I told them to set up this meeting. My mother gave me a disapproving look when Layal said, shaking her head back and forth. Layal continued, trying to finish the story without bursting into tears again. Once she was done, her parents dragged her into the other room. All you could hear were there screams “LAISH MAGLTELNA?! YOU COULD’VE BEEN KILLED!” If you listened closely, you could her Layal’s faint voice saying sorry multiple times.

By 11:30 PM, we were drained of all our energy. Suddenly, the door opened up, and Yousif and his father walked in! “YOUSIF!” his mother called out, running towards her son. Her face looking relieved. Yousif looked really tired. I turned to Layal to see if she was okay; she looked broken. Yousif walked towards the couch; he sat down and held his head with his hands. He took a deep breath and began to speak. “5thona w 7a8i8aw ma3ana... 7mdlah they took my actions as self defense so I was free to go. Gltlhum shsawa fe Layal, w 3nda trail on the account of him harassing her w threatening her.”He stopped and look up; he looked Layal straight in the eye. “Galaw  maygdroon eyawdona layn his trial, so his basically free to do what he wants till his trial. Ya3ny 3ady e6ali3 ra8m w e7acheech. ‘3ayry ra8mch Layal. Close your twitter and Facebook account for now. Please.”You could see the pain in Yousif’s eyes; how hard it was to get those words out. You could also see that Layal was suffering; she kept opening her mouth, waiting for the words to come out. Then suddenly, she forced the word “In-Inshallah” out. I could tell she was using all her strength not to cry.

My phone started to ring. It was Noorah. I walked out of the room to answer the phone.

-Phone call with Noorah-

Yasi: Alooo

Noorah: Hii Yasmeeen

Yasi: Halla, umm, shlonch?

Noorah: Better... W inty?

Yasi: Its been a long day...

Noorah: Oh... so btyeen tomorrow? Because chftch mayeety elyoum glt bat9l feech...

Yasi: Oh my God! I’m so sorry Noorah! Wallah I got caught up in some family drama! I’ll come over tomorrow, I probably won’t go to school!

Noorah: Ee, ana b3d I won’t go! Come over at 10? We’ll have breakfast together!

Yasi: Yeah sure 7beebty! Yalla I’ll see you tomorrow Inshallah! Bye

Noorah: Inshallah, bye

Now I had to convince my mother to let me go over. “Mama?”I said, walking towards my mother. “Yallah Yasmeen, bnamshy”My mother said, signaling me to follow her. “Inshallah” I replied, walking over to my Grandmother to kiss her forehead. I said goodbye to everyone and left. Once we were in the car, I tried opening up the conversation. “Umm mama, 3ady madawm tomorrow?”I said looking down at my fingers. “6ab3an, wayed ashya 9arat elyoum. I don’t blame you etha ‘3bety. Lazm tray7een! 3ad bs tomorrow ha!”My mother said, her warm hand on my cheek. I gave her a warm smile and said ‘Inshallah’. My father had stayed home with the boys, so Raj kindly took us home. “Umm mama, 3ady tomorrow aroo7 bait rfejty? 9ayra mshkla bayn ahalha w wayd mkt2ba el bnaya, kasra 5a6ri!” I said, hoping I wasn’t pushing my luck. “Hmm, Yasmeen, mnn hay el bnt?”My mother said, giving me a confused look. “Umm, Noorah AlX...”I said, twisting my lips to the side. “Eeee, 3raft’ha! Ely umha tsht’3l fe sharekat AlX? Bs mb chnha 9‘3eera? 13 madry 14?”My mother said, confused again. “Ee, hay umha. Umm ee, she’s 13 ... bs 7dha mature 7g sinha!”I said, trying to convince my mother. “Inzain, 3gb ma Raj ewa9l el awlad w eyeebly ashya2y mnn elsupermarket, a5ly ewadeech.”She said, giving me a warm smile. I smiled back and said thank you.

-

I woke up the next morning at 9 AM. I was still in my clothes from last night; my eyeliner smudged and my hair messed up. I must’ve fallen asleep without even knowing it. The last thing I remember was talking to my mother in the car. I must’ve fallen asleep right after that and my father must’ve carried me in. Reminded me of the days I’d sleep on the couch and magically wake up in my bed. I got up and took a shower. I felt so disgusted from last night; I actually thought it was a dream. But I knew it wasn’t. Once I was done, I prayed and got ready. I wore my black leggings and a loose, white sweatshirt that had a random cartoon on it. My hair was still wet so I just put it up into a messy bun because I wasn’t bothered with it. I wore my gold flats and got my Chanel purse. I was out the door by 10. I whatsapped Noorah and told her I was on my way. She told me that she told the maid to make us pancakes for breakfast! My stomach growled and I noticed how hungry I was.

Once I got to Noorah’s house, I rang the doorbell and she answered it. After we hugged, she showed me to the dining room where we’d have breakfast. I was hoping I’d surprise Saif when he got home from school! “Hahahaaha, Saif byt9arwa3 when he sees me!”I said with a giggle. Noorah’s eyes began to tear up. “Yasmeen... My dad 6rad Saif mnn el bait!”Noorah said, tears falling from her eyes. “Sh-shno? Wayna a7een? Is he okay?”I said, forcing the words out. “Madry! I didn’t talk to him! Bs akeed fe bait Faisal! I thought you knew...”She said, wiping her tears. “Tell me what happened.”I said, a serious look forming on my face. Noorah started telling me about how she told her father she wanted to see Saif when she had the nightmare, and how he called him and told him not to come home. I was so shocked that Saif didn’t bring this up. We didn’t really talk after the whole Fudz thing and I was busy yesterday with the stalker drama... I really needed to see if he was okay. I checked the time and luckily it was still break. I bbm-ed Reem, knowing she’d have her phone out at the moment.

-BBM conversation with Reem-

Yasi: PING!!! x5

Reem: HAAA SHTABEEN YAL ‘3AYBA YAL CHALBA.

Yasi: Uff skty I had family drama. Is Saif in school??

Reem: weeee 3asa ma shar!! Ee, he came with Faisal

Yasi: I’ll tell you later. Is he staying at Faisal’s??

Reem: Yup! Ams Faisal galy...

Yasi: Oh, I need to talk to him :(

Reem: Call him once school’s over, he has his phone :D

Yasi: Okay thank you love!

Reem: You’re welcome :*

I spent the afternoon with Noorah. Once the boys finished school, Raj came and picked me up. I hugged Noorah goodbye and left. Layal called me while I was in the car.

-Phone call with Layal-

Yasmeen: LAL7EEN MA‘3AYRTY R8MCH?!

Layal: I was just about too! Yasmeen dazaly whatsapp message from a new number! Egooly I’m gonna lose the case w ehwa bytzawajny 8a9eb!

-Previously-

Dad: Saif, Don’t bother coming home tonight.

-Yasmeen’s POV-

Saif seemed pissed. I didn’t know who he was talking to, but it seemed bad. I was worried about him. I’ve never seen him this angry before. I looked at him with a worried expression.

Yasmeen: Saif, 7beby, are you okay? Who were you talking to? Do you want to to get the food to go?

Saif: My dad. Laa, I lost my appetite. I just need to be alone right now.

Yasmeen: Saif, don’t shut me out! Maybe I can help. Shgal your dad? Was it about Noorah?

Saif: You can’t. Just leave me alone for now; I need some time alone.

And he left the restaurant like that.

I called the waitress over to get the bill and take the food back to Jumanah’s house. The waitress said “Ma’aam, the food has been payed for by the gentleman that was with you, I’ll put your food for take away and bring it now.”I can’t believe Saif remembered to actually pay for the food! This is why I loved him. He could still be my prince, when he was feeling down.

I decided to send Noorah a Whatsapp message and ask her what happened.

-Whatsapp conversation with Noorah-

Yasmeen: Noorah 7bebty, sh9ar bayn Saif w his dad??

Noorah: Its all my fault.

Yasmeen: Latgooleen chthy! Sh9ar?

Noorah: You know about the nightmares?

Yasmeen: Yeah, Saif told me. I hope you don’t mind?

Noorah: Laa 3ady. I had another one. All I wanted was Saif. And my dad took Saif away from me.

Yasmeen: Noorah what happened?

Noorah: Can you come over tomorrow night?

Yasmeen: Of course baby xx

Noorah: I love you!

Yasmeen: Me more x

I was hoping for the best, but expecting the worst. Inshallah 5air.

-Saif’s POV-

I hated him. With all my heart. I really need to check on Noorah. I’ll try calling her maybe? Her phone is off. Great.

-Phone call with Faisal-

Faisal: Halla, wainik?

Saif: Faisal, 3ady ag3d fe baitkum for a few days? My dad kicked me out... Bagoolk klshay when I see you... Can you pick me up now? Ana 3n baitkum fe Durra

Faisal: Ee akeed 3ady! Ana weya Reem w Jumanah al7een, so magdar ayeek... W my driver ma3a umy al7een fa 3ndk a7ad ewadeek?

Saif: Mashkoor wallah. Ee 3ndy, I’ll call Jassim. Yalla bye

Faisal: Mabaina! Bye

-Phone call with Jassim-

Jassim: Halla Saif! Waynk mabtyee bait yadtna elyoum?

Saif: Halla Jassoom, umm.. Laa.. Can you pick me up from Durra? Sorry eny agoolk bs ma3ndy a7ad ya5thny...

Jassim: Ee akeed! A9lan ana yam Durra right now, so bakoon 3ndk fe 5 minutes!

Saif: Mashkoor, bye

Jassim: bye

Once Jassim was here, he BBMed me to come outside of Durra. I got into the car and Jassim said “Spill”. I sighed, and told him the whole story. “Ma9dg hal rayal ehwa 3amy! Shlon y6rdk!”Jassim said, a bit too loud. “Jassim, had a39abk. Mt3awd ana.”I said, trying to calm him down. It was true; I was used to this. I was used to him blaming me constantly. I was used to him kicking me out. Even Faisal was used to it. I would leave for a few days, then I’d come back and he’d act like nothing happened. But this time, the problem was ten times worse. Every time it would be because I had talked back to him, said something rude to his wife, or even not replying to him. He had this thing about him, where he’d automatically kick me out if I had a reply better than his. Childish? Yes, I know. “Laa shnw t3awadt! Al7een tyee 3ndna w b3d matrid baitkum!”Jassim said, outraged. “Jassim 5la9, had nafsk! Wallah ehwa mb sha59 yswa. Ana baroo7 bait Faisal, 3ndhum Guest House 5arijy I stay in. I already have some clothes there so 3ady. Maby athagel 3laykum. Please, Jassim efham ina if I stay 3ndkum, it would be too risky. Maby ena, la sama7 Allah, ubooi eyeeh w echoofny 3ndkum...”I said, reassuring Jassim. “Inzain... Al7een gooly, t‘3adayt?”Jassim said with a smirk on his face. “Laa wallah, bs klsh mb yaw3an. Bs aby aroo7 arayi7...”I said, remembering the way I left Yasmeen at Fudz alone. “Yaah iskit arjook! Al7een ana awadeek nt‘3ada machboos deyay bait yadtna! Allah wallah 5osh machboos!”Jassim said, drooling a bit. “Hahaha, whatever you say Jassim.” I said, chuckling at him.

“Inzain umm, Saif? Salfat Jawaher 6awelat shway... Galatly I give you her number 3shan you talk to her fe Whatsapp... 3ady?”Jassim said, hesitantly. You could see how much he loved her when he said her name; he would start sweating and he starts breathing heavily; its kind of funny actually.  “Inzain 3a6ny her number, w I’ll plan something with her al7een yal love bird int”I winked at him. He chuckled nervously and said “3XXXXXXX”. I added her on whatsapp.

-Whatsapp conversation with Jawaher-

Saif: Halla Jawaher, ana Saif wld 3am Jassim.

Jawaher: Oh halla Saif!

Saif: Bagoolch, a7een shsalfa?

Jawaher: I stopped talking to both of them, ana aby I take this time to decide.

Saif: Inzain tbeen we meet up fe mkan 3shan tgoolenly shnw your decision?

Jawaher: ee okay. When and where?

Saif: How about tomorrow at Starbucks, City Centre @ 4 PM?

Jawaher: ee okay, see you there!

“Done.” I said to Jassim. “9j?? Sh9ar?” Jassim said, nervously.  “Tomorrow I’ll meet her w bnchoof who she chooses. Mabagoolk wayn bnroo7 3shan matyeey w b3d mabagool 7g Khalid. When she decides, I’ll call both of you.” I replied. Jassim just nodded silently and parked the car in front of our Grandmother’s house.

-Yasmeen’s POV-

I called Jumanah and told her I wasn’t feeling well, so I was leaving. Once I convinced her nothing was wrong; I called my mother and told her to send the driver and take me to my Grandmother’s house. I needed Layal and Yousif.

Once I got to my Grandmother’s house, salamt 3la everyone and ran upstairs. My mother noticed something was wrong, but she didn’t force me to talk. I ran up to the kids’ room to find Layal crying! “Layal 7abebty! Shfeeech!!? Yousif shfeeha Layal?!!”I said, running to hug Layal. “Youm sm3t enich yaya, galat el7mdelah w gamat et9ee7! 7awalt ahadeeha bs mar‘9at tgooli ela layn enty to9leen!”Yousif said; he seemed afraid! “Layal 7abeebty! Talk!”I started tearing up! I’ve never seen Layal like this before!

“Fee.. Fee wa7d... He followed me on twitter... then added me on Facebook... he even got my number and started talking on Whatsapp! Wayd gam e5awfny! Esawy “ana a7bch w batzawjch w maba5leech tzawjayn Yousif! Kela ba5aleech fe ‘3rfa locked up 3shan ma7ad ‘3ayry echoof jamalch!” I blocked him on Twitter, Facebook and Whatsapp, bs he just got another number and added me on whatsapp again! 3gb gam egool “I’ll kidnap you the next time you go out. Ana a3arf wayn enty, everyday, everywhere and at anytime.” W then he sent me a picture he took of me w ana fel supermarket w one of me in school! Wallah 9ij 9ij 5awafny!! I wanted to tell both of you! I wanted to tell my parents! I wanted to tell the police! I’m so scared! Galy etha I told my parent, you guys or the police, he’ll do something to you guys!”Layal kept sobbing and sobbing! I was crying with her and Yousif was so red and angry; I knew he wanted to kill this guy. “Layal... When did this start?”I said, hugging her tight. “A few weeks ago..”Layal said, sobbing even harder.“Layal please hd2ay!! I have a plan. Send him a whatsapp message telling him you want to meet him fe parking City Centre. The roof-top parking, which is always empty. Tell him ena inty b3d 7abayty... ena go along! Then, tomorrow when you say you’re gonna meet him, Yousif can see who the guy is, w ehma ytfahmon!”I said, trying to calm Layal down. “L-Laa a5af 3la Yousif! This guy seems dangerous!” Layal said, between sobs. “Lat5afeen 3alay 7beebty, I’m a big boy, I can take care of myself”Yousif said with a smile, wiping Layal’s tears. Yousif’s soft side was the side only Layal would get. I would always get the “maynoona inty?!”side. But that’s what I loved about their relationship; it was that Layal showed Yousif’s amazing side.

“Yalla ‘3ada!”Fatimah called from outside. Layal and I wiped our tears and the three of us went downstairs.

-

Layal slept over because she was too scared about today. I felt the adrenaline rushing in my blood while I was getting ready. I wore light blue jeans, a plain white top and a floral blazer with baby pink flats and my Chanel shoulder bag. I left my waves down with my bangs braided to the side. Layal wore navy jeans and a black top with a gold cardigan and gold flats. She wore a black hijab. “Ready?”I said, giving Layal a smile. “No...”Layal sighed, and got into the car.

Once we got to City Centre, I told the driver to go to the roof top parking and I called Yousif. “Ha are you here?” I said to Yousif on the phone. “Ee, achoof sayaratkum. Park w ana a7een bayee sayaratkum.”Yousif replied. I hung up and told Layal to whatsapp this guy and tell him she was here. “*Swallows hard* Yasmeen, a5af.” Layal said, her eyes were shut and tears were starting to fall from them. I wiped her tears and said “Layal lat5feen, Allah ma3ach w ana w Yousif hnyee. Gooly besmelah w dzy el Whatsapp message. Layal nodded slowly and started typing. I peaked into her phone to see what he replies.

-Whatsapp conversation with the guy-

Layal: Ana w9alt, meet me fel roof top parking :*!

...: Yalla 2 minutes w akoon 3ndch! I can’t believe you’re finally gonna be mine <3 <3! Al7een ntzawaj w I’ll keep you safe with me <3!

“I think he was dropped as a child...”I said, my eyes opened wide after reading his reply. “Gltlch! Maynoon!”Layal said. “Aka Yousif is here. Remember, keep my phone call open, so I can hear everything he says! 3shan Yousif knows when to come!”I said, reminding Layal of the plan. Layal nodded and left the car.

-Layal’s POV-

My heart was racing so fast; I thought it might jump out of my chest. I couldn’t breathe and my throat was dry. My hands kept shaking. What if this guy kidnaps me? I should’nt have come here. Ding! I had a whatsapp message. “7abeebty, ana 3nd el bab! Aka chftch! Walk towards me <3 shaklch 3roos <3!!”I called Yasmeen so she could listen in on the conversation.

-Conversation with guy-

Layal: U-umm magltly shsmk...

-Yasmeen’s POV-

Yousif: MA9ADG! THY RFEEJI! KLA AKOON MA3AH FEL GAHWA! BATHB7A!!!

Yousif stormed out of the car and ran towards them. I ran out and and followed him.

Yousif held Salman from his shirt and said “Aa yal chalb int! SHDARAK 3N LAYAL?!”Yousif’s nostrils were flaring and a vein was popping out of him forehead. He was breathing really hard. “A-A-A Yousif!! Let me explain!! “YA WLD EL **** !! ANA BATHB7K”Yousif pulled Salman from his shirt and he threw his body on the floor.

“YOUSIF STOP!!”
